WHO IS

Melanie Turner

Having ridden from a young age, I became increasingly interested in dressage around the age of 21 and was fortunate enough to gain a position working for Ian and Tracy Woodhead at their yard in Lincolnshire. It was here that I was first exposed to the world of international competition. Through the support and guidance of the Woodhead team, I produced and competed many young horses at the start of their careers. It was at Ian and Tracys where I became the owner of ‘Tamberonie’ who was to be my most successful competition horse to date. We enjoyed success at Premier League, Regional and National level from Young Horse classes through to Intermediate II level. We were also selected to be on the ‘World Class Equine Pathway Programme’. Sadly, Tamberonie’s competition career was cut all too short by injury just as we were about to make our Grand Prix debut. Although I have had many horses over the past few years I have found myself enjoying training over competing and my love of coaching others has grown. I aim to develop a partnership between the clients and their horses built on trust and understanding. I take time to listen to my clients and understand what they would like to achieve and then work together to find the best pathway which will work for themselves, their horses, their time and their situation which guides them towards achieving their goal. My passion for understanding our horses and how they feel in their mind and body led me to discovering groundwork.

Coaches/Mentors

I strongly believe that the regular support I get from my coaches is the foundation of my business and my weekly sessions with them keep me up to date, well informed and continue my professional development as a coach and rider.

    David is currently

    President of British Dressage 2022-
President of the International Trainers Club
Chair of the FEI judging Supervisory Panel
    International Dressage Trainer

As an international rider David was the first British rider to win all three classes at an overseas International and trained four different horses that were long listed for the Olympics from Montreal in 1976 to Atlanta in 1996.

  • Claire Gallimore

I started training with Claire in 2021 and she quickly became a key member of my team. The inspiration behind me
looking at my horses through different eyes and introducing me to taking the groundwork through to the ridden work. Claire is an international dressage rider and coach with clients including riders at FEI, Grand Prix and Olympic level.

  • Sandie Robertson

I started working with Sandie in 2022, Sandie is an Equestrian mindset, confidence and performance coach. She very successfully keeps me on the straight and narrow when life doesn’t go to plan with the horses and keeps me focused.
